The Swedish Center Board consists of representatives from many prominent organisations in San Diego. Among them are the Consulate of Sweden, The Swedish American Chamber of Commerce San Diego (SACC), Swedish Women´s Educational Association (SWEA), San Diego State University (SDSU), House of Sweden and the Vasa Order of America. The Consulate of Sweden in San Diego

The Honorary Consulate of Sweden in San Diego serves San Diego and Imperial Counties in Southern California. The Consulate activities are divided into consular services and promoting Sweden in the area. The Consulate has two departments, Technology & Trade and Public Relations & Communication. The consulate staff is very much involved in Swedish organizations operating in the area, functioning as a coordinator and liaison between such organizations. Consul Erik Nowacki is the Chairman of the Swedish Center and the Vice Consul is Katarina Keane.

The mission of the Consulate is to further the interests of Sweden and Swedish nationals. The Consulate provide routine and emergency services to Swedish citizens, including the delivery of Swedish emergency passports. They also provide information on Sweden and Swedish culture. Because San Diego is a center of high-technology and biotechnology, the Consulate takes an active role in facilitating scientific investment and commercial alliances in these fields.

The Swedish American Chamber of Commerce

SACC San Diego was founded in 1989 as one of the first local Swedish chambers in America. Today it is one of 20 local chambers in the umbrella organization SACC-USA and boasts 80 active members. SACC San Diego is a non-profit organization with the goal of increasing, promoting and developing Swedish–American contacts and interactions in the greater San Diego area. A variety of events are arranged each year by SACC-San Diego to promote Sweden in the San Diego area. Consul Erik Nowacki is a past President, current member and serves on the board of directors of SACC San Diego.

SWEA

Swedish Women's Educational Association Inc. is a global non-profit organization for Swedish speaking women who live or have lived abroad. The San Diego chapter was founded in 1981 and now has 105 members who meet on a monthly basis. Vice Consul Katarina Keane serves on the SWEA Board of Directors with responsibility for membership.

San Diego State University

San Diego State University, with nearly 34,000 students, is the oldest and largest university in San Diego, the third largest in California, and one of the largest universities in the western United States. SDSU is classified by the Carnegie Foundation as "Doctoral/Research University- Intensive." The university is proactive in forming partnerships with business and industry, as well as with the state and federal governments.

SDSU is designated by the Carnegie Foundation, putting it among the top 6.7 percent of higher education institutions in the U.S.  It also ranks among the top 150 public colleges and universities in the nation in research expenditures.  SDSU is one of the most popular universities in California, receiving more than 62,000 undergraduate applications for fall 2008. SDSU generates $2.4 billion each year for the San Diego economy and produces thousands of graduates, 60 percent of whom stay in San Diego to pursue their careers.  San Diego State is home to top-ranking programs in biology, education, engineering, international business, psychology, speech-language, women’s studies, and many other fields of study.
